Joining PKOUG is more than adding your name to a mailing list. Registration creates the profile that connects you with Pakistan’s Oracle and enterprise technology community. The workflow is deliberately staged so identity, payment, approval, and public visibility remain separate decisions.
What the registration feature is for
The registration form collects the professional information PKOUG needs to evaluate a membership application and, after approval, build a useful directory profile. It asks for core identity and contact details, a profile photograph, your role and experience, location, employer information, and up to six technology skills.
Those skills are not decorative. They help other members and visitors discover people with relevant experience in the public directory. Choose the technologies that best represent work you can discuss or contribute to.
How to use it
- Open the Join as a member section and select the membership plan that fits you.
- Complete the member registration form with accurate professional details and a suitable profile photo.
- Select up to six skills from the searchable technology list.
- Submit the form and use the verification link sent to your email address.
- If your chosen plan is paid, follow the payment instructions and upload valid transfer proof.
- Wait for the PKOUG team to review the application and, where applicable, verify payment.
Why the stages are separate
Email verification proves that you control the address used for the account. Payment verification confirms receipt for a paid plan. Administrative approval checks that the profile is appropriate for the community. Only after the required states are satisfied can a profile become publicly visible. A submitted payment does not automatically approve a profile, and approval does not invent or replace payment.
Tips for a smooth application
- Use an email address you can access immediately.
- Upload a clear, recent photograph that represents you professionally.
- Keep your job title, employer, city, and experience truthful and current.
- Choose focused skills instead of selecting broad technologies you do not actively use.
- For paid membership, make sure payment proof is readable before submitting it.
Your application can move through verification, payment review, approval, and publication at different times. That separation protects both members and the community.
What happens after publication
Once your membership meets the publication requirements, your approved public information can appear in the member directory. You can then sign in to the member portal to maintain your own profile, privacy choices, password, and eligible community contributions.
