The forum decides access from one role per person. Your role comes from your PKOUG account, never from points, rank or badges.
| Role | Who | Can do |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor | Not signed in | Read public categories |
| Registered user | Signed in, PKOUG membership not current | Ask, answer, reply, edit and delete own posts, accept answers on own questions, vote, follow, bookmark, report |
| PKOUG member | Signed in with a current PKOUG membership | Everything above, plus members-only categories |
| Moderator | Appointed by an administrator | Everything above, plus edit/remove/restore any post, lock and pin topics, review reports, manage tags |
| Administrator | Appointed by an administrator | Everything, including categories, user privileges, suspension and the audit log |
Members-only categories #
Some categories are visible only to current PKOUG members. Their topics do not appear in listings, search, tags or profiles for anyone else, and a direct link shows not found.
Suspension #
A suspended account can still read what it could read before, but cannot post, vote, follow, bookmark or report until the suspension ends or an administrator reinstates posting access.
Appointments #
Moderators and administrators are appointed by PKOUG administrators. Nobody becomes a moderator by earning points or a rank. See What recognition does not grant.
